Religious territoriality is a post-omnidoxical theory of Cometanic origin regarding the nature and operability of religions considered as being particularly oriented on claiming geographical territories according to the concentration of their adherents in those territories.

An aspect of the study of the spread of religions, religious territoriality postulates that it has been the nature of religions and continues to be the nature of religions to exert the ambition to claim geographical territories so as to confirm the loyalty of a population to their particular denomination.

The theory of religious territoriality generally regards religions themselves as well as religious institutions as holding the claiming of territories as a central intention of a religion to achieve recognition. Examples of religious territoriality can be found throughout the history of religion, most evidently in the development of the tradition of claiming state religions which ties a particular religion with a particular geographic area despite the often diverse religious beliefs of the population within that geographic area.

Essentially, religious territoriality sees the proximation of the relationship between the nation and the religion as the central goal of the religious institution.
